When it comes to children's education, lots of discussions from different aspects will come up. Some parents care about this issue so much that they look more like the real students than their children, however, some do not take it so seriously. From my perspective, I agree that parents today are more involved in their children’s education than were parents in the past.

First of all, I think the main reason would be the economy growth. The world nowadays are not the same as before. As the time goes by, the human experienced the industrial revolution and the technological improvement. These changes made people earn lots of money and are capable of upgrading their lives. They do not need to worry about the basic living anymore. Due to the saving of the wealth, more and more people become richer and therefore they can afford the payment of the tuition fee for children. As a result, parents care more about the education.

Secondly, since that the birth rate are decreasing generally, the only child in the family seems to be more important to the parents. Unlike the generation of our grandmothers when they were likely to have more than four or five children, most of the parents now prefer to give birth less then two and some of them even do not have the plan to have children. Consequently, the parents consider their only child so valuable. Under this situation, it is sure that the parents will spend more time and more energy on educating their children.

Last but not least, because the learning environment has already become so competitive, the parents do not want their children to lose at the first step, they will try their best to offer education to their children by finding a good teacher or taking the children to certain schools where provide the pre-course of each subject.

According to the above statements, I believe that parents today are more involved in their children’s education than were parents in the past.
