People today spend too much time on personal enjoyment-doing things they like to do-rather than doing things they should do. 

Doing something that is enjoyable is so wonderful that no one will reject to do it. Some people believe that people nowadays spend too much time on personal enjoyment rather than doing things they should do, whereas other people have opposite opinions. As far as I am concerned, it is sure that people today spend too much time on personal enjoyment. I am willing to discuss the reasons further in the following essay.

First of all, thanks to the technology, it is so convenient for people to have fun. Due to the technological changes that occur so rapidly in modern society, people are able to realize their personal enjoyment easily. With the diverse devices invented in this era and widespread internet connections, people can do what they love to do anytime and anywhere. Thus, they are prone to spend more and more time on their personal enjoyment and be addicted eventually. For example, smartphones allow people to watch videos online. Because of this convenience, so many students watch dramas or movies when they are in class. Consequently, too much time is spent on people's personal enjoyment. 

Secondly, people nowadays need to spend so much time on personal enjoyment for relieving their enormous pressure. Since the society has become more and more competitive, people receive a great amount of stress than before. Students encounter the pressure from the school exams and their parents. Workers in companies face the stress of worrying their promotions. As a result, they tend to spend too much time on personal enjoyment to relax. For example, in the office, many employees browsing the social network or playing online games because those activities are helpful for relieving pressure in their minds. Therefore, people gradually spend too much time on personal enjoyment instead of the things they should do.

As has been demonstrated above, it is clear that people today spend too much time on personal enjoyment rather than doing things they should do. Therefore, people ought to be more self-disciplined and take the responsibility of their obligations.
